Erik Richman, CSP/EIT

About

Erik provides a wide range of Risk Management and Safety Services to our clients from hazard assessments and site Safety visits to training and program development.  He is a knowledgeable Safety Professional that makes Safety personal, seeks to establish working relationships, and is a valuable partner in your Health & Safety goals.

 Qualifications

Erik has over 24 years of industry experience throughout the Northeast, the Mid-Atlantic regions, and occasional roles throughout other various parts of the country, ranging from engineering and project management to risk consulting and Safety management.

 Erik started his career on the Central Artery Project in Boston.  He assisted in the design of the support of excavation systems, oversaw the installations of the systems, managed various utility subcontractors, and worked directly with local utility owners to ensure their facilities were properly protected. 

Erik supervised the installation of two chlorine injection facilities in New York City from site clearing to completion without any recordable accidents.  Erik received the Superintendent of the Year Award for Safety record, quality, and schedule management on this project.

Erik supervised telecommunication installations from Delaware to Connecticut along roadways, railways, and over bridges, working closely with subcontractors, governing bodies, local businesses, and utility companies.

 Erik worked for 6 years as the Director of Safety for a large New England Electrical Contractor where he developed company specific programs, processes, and training programs that were instrumental in improving incident prevention, achieved dramatic reductions in EMR, and supported the growth of a strong Safety culture. 

In his consulting roles, Erik has assisted numerous contractors to develop and/or improve Safety programs, processes, policies, and overall culture. He has also assisted in numerous successful OSHA citation negotiations.

By facilitating management involvement, encouraging employee engagement, maintaining good communication from top to bottom, continuous internal education, and by developing task specific solutions, True North Safety will continue to improve the industry’s accident and incident prevention culture.

Dylan Baer, CHST

About

Dylan provides an expansive range of safety services to our clients including task specific training courses, site visits and audits, risk management solutions, and developing company specific programs and policies. Dylan is a dedicated safety professional that specializes in the construction industry and has a strong passion for developing adaptive solutions around field-based safety.

 Qualifications

Dylan began his career in construction as a carpenter with a strong connection to safety. This early connection was later pursued and taken to the next level by obtaining his degree and credentials. Dylan is a graduate of Keene State College with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health and Applied Sciences where he focused his studies on construction and environmental safety. 

 After obtaining his degree, Dylan went on to assist one of the nation’s leading fire arms manufacturing facilities in developing a comprehensive Lockout / tagout program that encompassed over 40 production lines and over 1,000 machine-specific lockout tagout procedures. 

 After completing his assignment developing lockout / tagout specific programs and policies, Dylan moved on to work for a large New England based electrical contractor where he managed the construction field-based safety aspects of projects.  During this time, Dylan provided a wide range of safety trainings to employees including FA/CPR/AED, Orientation, Lock Out / Tag Out, Aerial Lift Training, Confined Space Entry, Scaffolding, Fork truck and Fall Protection. Dylan also developed numerous fall protection plans and task specific job hazard analysis.

 In addition to the training Dylan provided during this period, he also assisted in risk management strategies, OSHA investigations and litigation, accident analysis, motor vehicle accident analysis, site safety audits and re-writing company policies and programs. Dylan’s efforts over the five years were an integral part in the reduction of work place incidents, employee injuries, and EMR. All of which was a part of a major successful shift in safety culture.

 Dylan is passionate that a group that has a strong safety commitment from the top down has the potential to be a leader in safety. Through education, commitment, and mutual trust, a company can be first in class when it comes to safety and can sustain itself there.
